Event Access Information

Queens Heath Pride is a free annual community pride event held in Kings Heath. It takes place outdoors on a side road off a busy high street.

Each year, we review and improve our planning based on conversations & feedback we receive, particularly around accessibility for disabled and neurodivergent people. This page will be updated annually ahead of the event to keep the information as accurate and relevant as possible.

It is currently up to date for Queens Heath Pride 2026.

QHP is a busy event, and every year several thousands of local people turn out to celebrate and come together as LGBTQIA+ people and their friends. It is outdoors, and therefore people must come equipped for the weather on the day (it is British summer time after all!)

On York Road dense crowds gather, interacting with live performers, drag, and DJs. The many venues are bustling with people buying drinks, eating food, and having conversations. People are here as families with young children, teenagers, and as queer chosen family. There are people making new connections, speaking, dancing, and many people are drinking alcohol.

On Heathfield Road people are browsing in a tight street market. They are stopping frequently, and people are weaving around each other creating small gaps to move through. Towards the end of the street closure on the right hand side is Kings Heath Community Centre- here there are activities specifically for children and young people. There is a chest/breastfeeding area. There is also a quiet area available.

York Road– an accessible portaloo will be available to use on the side away from the highstreet. Kitchen Garden Cafe also has an accessible toilet.

Heathfield Road– the community centre will have portaloo provision this year in the car park. This includes an accessible portaloo.

All portaloos are gender inclusive.

There is work being undertaken to install a changing places toilet in the future at Kings Heath Community Centre.

York Road– a side street home to a range of independent businesses who are often open on the event serving drinks and refreshments. Many of these businesses organise their own pop up activities on the day related to Queens Heath, not all are wheelchair accessible.

The street will have a large stage, and access in and out will be managed by security and stewards. There will be a specific accessible entrance from the high street directly next to the Hare and Hounds.

Due to crowds once you are within the Pride there will be several areas that are tight and will take longer time to navigate, please take this into account when moving. York Road also has kerbs, there will be dropped kerb signs.
